The Sky Whale

Just fifteen minutes after spotting the sleeping giant, I noticed another cool formation developing in the clouds ahead.

A big fish was showing through the afternoon sky. The formation was so detailed. I could see the distinctive shape of a fish or whale right away.

I couldn't help but think about the poetry of it all. Here was a creature of the deep ocean, recreated in water vapor high above the earth. It reminded me that clouds, like the sea, are constantly in motion, constantly changing, constantly creating new wonders for those who take the time to look.

This double discovery—the sleeping giant and the fish, made that flight from Brussels to Oslo unforgettable. Sometimes the journey really is more interesting than the destination.
